Fairoak Fishery is a stillwater trout Fishery lying in the peace and seclusion of the picturesque Wye Valley, just two miles from Tintern and yet only four miles from Junction 22 of the M48.

The lakes are fed by spring water rising in Fedw Wood, overlooking the Fishery. They are trickle stocked with hard fighting rainbow trout from a minimum of 2lb to double figures.

The owners, Nick and Penny Brewin, are both very dedicated anglers, and have sympathetically restored the overgrown and neglected lakes. Fairoak Fishery has truly been created for anglers, by anglers, and great attention has been paid to ensure the needs of these anglers have been met. A warm welcome is always assured. There is a lodge and toilet available for the use of anglers, who may enjoy a free mug of tea or coffee when booking-in and tackling-up. Rod numbers on the main lakes are very strictly limited, so it is always advisable to book in advance, especially on weekends and public holidays.

There is abundant natural fly life, and this together with the clear water means that small naturals and dry flies are ideal patterns to try.

The fish are reared locally and are top quality, fully finned rainbow trout. Nick's daily stocking policy results in a consistent quantity of excellent fish, and avoids the unreliability of irregular stocking.

In addition to the two larger lakes of approximately 3 acres, there is a small novice and practice pond which is stocked with the same quality fish weighing about one pound. This is the ideal pond for novice anglers, where the skills and techniques can be learnt and mastered with more co-operative fish. Tuition may be arranged by appointment, and tackle hire is available.

For those wishing to take a short break, accommodation can be arranged locally, and there is plenty to do for all the family in this beautiful area.

The Fishery is open every day, except Christmas Day, from 8am until dusk.

We look forward to welcoming you to Fairoak Fishery, and if we can be of' any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
